Canobie Lake AAA Discount 2018

This always seems to be one of my favorite postings, but until recently I couldn't find updated information on the discount. It magically appeared in my email and I thought I'd share the information. The AAA $6 discounted tickets still do exist and you can purchase them here if you are a member. These are only ADULT tickets. I found no offers for AAA children's discounted tickets. As I've mentioned in the past this discount is only good if you purchase your tickets in advance, it is not a show your card at the entrance discount as some are with AAA.

The current prices listed online at Canobie Lake's website are $39 for adults under the age of 60 and $29 for children who are less than 48" tall and adults 60 and over. Clearly if you are over 60 the senior regular price is better than the discounted AAA price. Something to keep in mind if you are bringing extended family or if they are the ones taking the kids to the park. Children under the age of 3 are free. So with the AAA discount adult tickets are $33 each. You have the option of ordering your children's tickets through AAA or buying online through Canobie lake or at the gate.

AAA Discounts for Legoland Discovery Center Boston

As I was pricing a family outing to Legoland Discovery Center in Sommerville I began to look for discounts to reduce the cost. I had only casually looked before at AAA and hadn't noticed any discounts available, but since our outing was just a someday, I wasn't giving it a serious look. However, once a set date was in place I searched in earnest to find the most affordable option for our day.

You may see two offers for Legoland Discovery center on the AAA website, however, only the one I'm linking works for Boston. The other is for Westchester. The AAA discount is located here. The discount says you can use it with your card to purchase a walk up ticket for a flat rate of $15.95 per person at the door or online in advance. Legoland is a not a huge attraction and it books 15 minute entrance times to keep crowds moving through the first floor exhibits, sending people to the more open second floor where you can spend as long as you wish. If you have a specific date and time in mind and you want to make sure you have a slot, buying e-tickets through triple AAA in advance is a good option. I understand during vacations and some weekends slots can fill quickly.

Don't be confused by the starting at prices on their website. Why would I pay $15.95 when the website says tickets are $14.95? Well if you do what I did and open up two windows, one with AAA and one with Legoland, you quickly realize they are serious about the starting at price. The $15.95 turned out to be a significant price savings over buying my e-tickets directly through Legoland. Don't trust me try the experiment for yourself. If you are a AAA member, open two windows one with Legoland and one with AAA and compare the costs.

We had a great trip and the cost savings will go to other outings.

AAA Canobie Lake Park Discount 2016

This appears to be one of my most popular post so I thought I'd update it for those who keep checking back.

It appears AAA is offering a $6 adult ticket discount for Canobie Lake Park again this year. You can find the details here. As in previous years the tickets must be purchased at the AAA branch office or from them online for the discount to work. You cannot use your AAA card at the park and get the discount. Also, it appears the discount only applies to adult tickets, not the children's tickets. This is consistent with previous year's discounts. The tickets are good for one year. This works well if you live in the area and have a rain date.

According to the park's website, current adult 2016 ticket prices for Canobie Lake are $38. For those over 60 years old or under 48" the price is $29. Those who enter after 5PM pay $26. Children under 3 can enter the park for free. Parking is still free.

With the AAA discount, adult tickets are $32. There is no additional discount and it does not look like they are offering the option of buying your children's tickets online through AAA.

The prices are lower prior to May 22 when regular season prices will apply. There are also special days with special pricing that can be found here. For those of you who don't have AAA that link also lists places you may be able to find coupons at local stores.

AAA Canobie Lake Discounts for 2014

AAA discounts are back for 2014. As always tickets must be purchased in advance through your AAA office, it isn't an offer you can use by just showing your card.

According to their website General Admission for 2014 is $36 for adults under 60, $27 for those over 60 years of age and under 48 inches. It appears height is the factor not age for children. Those under 3 are given free admission. If you arrive after 5PM admission is $25 and if you show a military ID discounts are also available. More information about prices is available here.

The AAA discount gives $6 off an adult admission bringing the price down to $30. There is no AAA discount on children's tickets. You can find more information about ordering AAA tickets here.
